Many of us start the New Year with resolutions to shrink our waist lines by exercising every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Make it your resolution this year to expand your thought process by reading POLI-ticked at www.tomwurtz.com every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  The POLI-ticked article this week provides detail on what two Senators from Northern Kentucky, Senators Damon Thayer and John Schickel are doing to restore Tea Party principals to government.

SB62 – AN ACT relating to planning commissions. Amend KRS 147.620, relating to the dissolution of an area planning commission, by changing the petition signature requirements from 25% of the number of registered voters who voted in the last presidential election to 10% of the number of registered voters who voted in the last regular election.”

Call the legislative hot line at 1-800-372-7181 and ask your Senator and Representative to support SB62.  The call is free and the process take about a minute.

And what about Waterloo?  Click on this link to read the article by Tom Wurtz.

The question of who pays for the Green Trails continues to be asked at our local NKAPC meetings and at the Fiscal Court meetings and at every meeting where local do-gooders push this agenda using other peoples money.  You cannot make this stuff up so read what kind of costs come with trails.

FLORENCE, Mont. –  A bicyclist who was injured when he hit a patch of ice and crashed on a pedestrian/bike path in Florence last winter has reached an out-of-court settlement worth nearly $100,000.  The president of the Florence Park District says he's disappointed in a system that allows a man riding a motorized bicycle on a winter night on a trail that doesn't allow motorized vehicles to receive an insurance settlement. Half of the settlement came from a Florence bar because snow was pushed onto the trail when the bar parking lot was plowed.  John Cornish tells the Ravalli Republic for a story published Monday that people should know riding a bike at night in winter is a little dangerous.

The Northern Kentucky TEA Party is encouraged today with the filing of a lawsuit asking the Kentucky Court of Justice to enjoin the Kenton County Clerk from depriving the citizens of Kenton County of their legal right to vote by referendum on whether there is any continued need for the Northern Kentucky Area Planning Commission.

Nearly 25,000 people petitioned to have this issue placed on the November ballot but the County Clerk has disqualified enough of those petitioners to prevent the issue from appearing.

Bluegrass Beacon column sent to newspapers today addresses yesterday's announcement by Kenton County Clerk Gabrielle Summe to prohibit voters from deciding the future of the bloated Northern Kentucky Area Planning Commission.

Summe claimed in her news release that the petition submitted by the Northern Kentucky Tea Party and the local Home Builders Association lacked enough valid signatures to be certified to place the issue on the ballot.
