The Board is composed of five members representing the community. Members must reside within Boone County and be committed to the provision of library services within the county. The nominees are reviewed by the library and the library folks in Frankfort.  The library then offers up an approved list of nominees to the Boone County Judge-Executive for approval by the Boone County Fiscal Court. Each member may serve two four-year terms.  The proposed legislation by Senator John Schickel, SB49, will change this process and allow the Couny Judge to offer up their own candidates to the Fisical Court for approval.

If you are interested in serving on the Board of Trustees, here's how you can apply for consideration.
The Library is governed in accordance with its bylaws. The Board of Trustees is responsible for establishing policy, approving the budget, and ensuring that adequate funds are available to finance the budget. The Board oversees the library's finances, the library director, and is responsible for understanding the library's mission, programs, and services.
